Rehabilitation and Renewal of Historical Fountains

An important section inside the Ornamental Sources, is the maintenance of them, which must be done as a habit. Without this maintenance, that has to be preventive and corrective, the fountains get damage, and in the worst of the cases, they are exposed to the abandonment. It is precisely in these cases of abandonment, for antiquity, that in Water Light Tech, we have a department in charge of the Rehabilitation and Renewal of National fountains and of Historical Sources.

The Rehabilitation of an obsolete installation, involve many feasibility studies, as well as the problems derived from the abandonment and antiquity of the installed materials. Nevertheless, we look for all the possible solutions, to modernize all the materials, and electrical installations and the hydraulic ones, as well as the adaptation to the new electrical regulations of lighting system. Looking for the fountain finally could turn to work perfectly, with the best possible results.

One of the cases that needs more technical dedication and care, is  the rehabilitation of the Historical Fountains. The performance in this kind of fountains is more sensitive, because they depend generally on Historical Patrimony and therefore it is necessary to preserve like a condition “Sine qua non”, the original water design effect, as well as the sculptural or architectural one, called the constructive part of the fountain. One of the rehabilitations carried out by our company was in the fountain of Los Jardines de La Rosaleda en el Parque de Los Jardines del Real, city of Valencia. This fountains preserves its original design, including the water games, the original stone and the base of pond, carrying out a work of waterproofing and aesthetic styling, as well as a modernization of the electrical and hydraulic materials and incorporate improvements as the musical option.

It has not been the only performance in this kind of fountains, in Segovia, Spain, we have carried another two rehabilitations and start-up, of each fountains that were had stopped more than ten years. In them were installed materials of high quality like collectors, nozzles, pumps and projectors Led RGB made of stainless steel. At the same time the whole electrical system has been restructured with adaptations to new safety regulations, as well as the aesthetic finishing touches as the process of watertightness due to multiple water leakage.

With all this, we want to show, that all the ancient fountains have solution, which will be able to need more or less complicated works, depending on its conservation. At Water Light Tech we work with the same illusion and dedication, as well as in fountains of new construction and at the most ancient, which deserve the same respect to us.
