SANTO TOMAS, SEGOVIA

In Segovia, at Santo Tomas traffic circle, were an ancient fountain, with a design of jets of big wealth distributed in 7 meters diameter which the fountain has. This fountain was stopped during many years, for electrical, hydraulic motives and especially for risk of leakage. This water used to go out and wetting the garden around the fountain finally lot of water were over the road, with the consequent risk for the vehicles in winter. There was projected an integral rehabilitation of the same one, in which the design of a fountain was included with new water games, with the incorporation of colour with light fixtures Led RGB, adaptation to submersible pumps of low consumption, and finally the waterproofing of the fountain.

Firstly, were done the cleanliness and repair the structural breaks and fissures of the fountain, then were applied water-repellent in order to obtain the watertightness of the fountain. Finally, and after maintaining the fountain full of water for one week, was checked that the water leakages were repaired. The stainless steel collector was placed in three water circuits, nozzles and pumping systems were distributed in three circuits. Finally, stainless steel light fixtures were installed with bulbs Led RGB of big intensity and low consumption.

The last part, it was most complicated from the whole reform, due to the technical room needed a great work, in order to remove the old devices, pipes, cables and other elements. In this technical room was installed a new control panel, this control panel has the latest technical development in control route DMX, for the pumping system, and for the lighting systems, as well as auxiliary elements like automatic filling for probes and heights control for sign of digital anemometer.

The final result, was a practically new fountain, with a central jet, Cascade 125 mm and an almost 4 meters height.  6 Snowy Jets 1,5 meters high, and finally a collector with nozzles S-Jet that send the jets towards the central forming a dome of crystalline jets. All this with dynamic movements and changes of sequence and heights, at night, with the full range of colour, the fountain shows us a very nice effect of colour in gradual form.

As final culmination as good work done, in a brief time, original, renewed fountain, without too many structural changes, and the most important thing for our team, the gratitude of the municipal corporation, and especially being grateful of the local residents of Segovia, because the fountain was stopped many years.
