REHABILITATION ALTO DE LOS LEONES EN SEGOVIA SPAIN
In Segovia, specifically at traffic circle, square called Alto de Los Leones, opposite to the Segovia University, there were carried out works of restoration and reform of a fountain. Inside of the traffic circle, encircled by a landscaped area, a granite stone pond was located with a steel sculpture with a pyramid shape. This pyramid was formed by channels, which the purpose to slip water through the channels from the top, up to the base, where also there were a few foamy nozzles of water. This fountain remained stopped for many years due to a electrical failure, hydraulic circuits and especially by risk of leakage. Especially, the water went to the technical room placed under the fountain. The steel structures were cut, technicians dismantled and take away from the fountain. The pond was repaired with a reinforced concrete and after that were done a waterproof product, in order to keep the watertightness.
Also were closed ancient piping system, using some of them for the cables, and for the installation of new pipes of filling and overflow. Finally, and after maintaining the fountain, it was fill up, to check the water status for some days, it was proved that the risk of leakage were repaired. Then were installed the new piping system, collector, nozzles and the pumping system, where two types of nozzles would be placed. In the interior pond, was installed a submersible pump for central jet. At the main collector, were placed the other model of nozzles ” S Jet”, and “Snowy Jets”, stainless steel light fixtures and a control panel with inverters and DMX system for the control of the inverters and lighting system.
The final outcome, it was a practically new fountain, with a central jet, model Column of Water of with an almost 4 meters height. Around it in the exterior pond, were placed four groups of parabolic jets that they spill to the interior to produce water cascades, and also there exist 8 Snowy jet nozzles that produce fa foamy effect. All entire, with dynamic movements and changes of sequence and heights, which in the night turn out to be reinforced by the changes of colour of gradual form.
